Regarding leftism i think i feel much like the 40s liberals who broke with the commies and fellow travelers. Guys like henry wallace who may have had the best of intentions were duped by stalinist/communist crowd. I think folks here, even the one whose writings i dont understand, will find this out one day regarding their penchant for glorifying the 3rd world reality instead of 3rd world hope. I am hoping that Abu Mazen understands this and that he somehow can bring an end to terrorism even if he uses words and takes political action, we might not approve of. I dont care if terror stops because it is viewed as a failed policy rather than an immoral one. Once stopped, and once progress made, it will be harder to start up. And when Sharon and Mazen shake hands at Camp David, perhaps a deal can actually be struck. Mike
