They don't - they want an Iraqi state. Of course they have more than their share of extremists, but what do you expect after decades of oppression? The majority of Iraqis, though, just want to live their lives without being under the thumb of a murderous, sadistic, thieving dictator. There is no reason to think that even the majority of Iraqi Shiites want a new dictatorship styled after the Iran of the Ayatolloahs. The Iranian people don't want it, why should we expect the Iraqis to?
