This is odd, especially after hearing on the news yesterday while eating lunch that a "woman" shot up a school. I thought that was very odd because women are not usually found on the list of mass murderers. Someone on TV postulated these lists only count when four or more are killed and this shooting only got 3... (now raised to 6).

Later in the evening the SF news shows seemed to walk around the gender and finally said something about the shooter being "transgender" but didn't give any details beyond that. That was very odd as we had an Asian man kill a bunch of coworkers here recently and the news was all over his personal life I think even before he turned himself in by parking in front of the police station.

Nashville school shooting: six shot dead by former student

Drake identified the suspect as Audrey Elizabeth Hale, 28, a resident of the Nashville area, and referred to the assailant by female pronouns. The chief said the suspect identified as transgender but provided no further clarity.

The Tennessean newspaper cited a police spokesperson as saying Hale used he/him pronouns. Hale used male pronouns on a LinkedIn page that listed recent jobs in graphic design and grocery delivery.
I think we have a right to the information and a right to be worried about people who might be dangerous.

Also, how many genders is one allowed to use and how is one to know which one to use without fear of being "cancelled" for getting it wrong?

Does all this confusion over what used to be easy such as how to be friendly while addressing strangers and coworkers add to the poor investor and consumer sentiment? I think it does...
