ephud, I don't think this is necessarily correct.

Don´t you think IBM would know? And, they want bragging rights, and you can be sure they would have used Potomac if it gave them better scores, at least in addition to Cranford scores. Dell, HP have posted Potomac/Twincastle scores, and they can´t keep up with X3. Don´t forget Cranford is also clocked faster than Potomac.
