Hi Bobster, I've pondered on your question and have come to the following: If I understand the method of calculating for RS, the reason for a stock to have an RS SELL signal would be that it is still under preforming the board averages, thus a stock that has a RS BUY signal would be out preforming the board averages. I believe you can buy a RS SELL stock if all other signals are good knowing that it will likely underpreform its piers in the same industry. NEWP RS CHART RS 2.17 on 2/24/98 3.0 2.75 2.5 X 2.25 O X O B 2.0 5 X O A 1.75 6 X B X 1.5 7 C X 1.25 3 1.0 9 9 9 9 2 5 6 7 As you see, a 2.5 would move NEWP to an RS BUY signal.
