Clinton was also elected because he promised a middle class tax cut. He then went on to raise taxes instead of cut them.

Clinton had no intention of passing welfare reform until the Republican elected congress shoved it down his throat. Otherwise, he would have passed it in his first 2 years when he had a Democrat majority in both houses of congress.

Why didn't he pass welfare reform in his first 2 years if was so for it?

The answer is very simple. He didn't want anything to do with welfare reform, except as a political weapon to get elected.

A majority of Democrats were also against the Bush led coalition which took Saddam's army out. If Clinton, Gore or any other Democrat had been running the show instead of Bush, Saddam would probably control 40% of the worlds oil reserves today.

You should be thankful Bush had the courage, and support from the armed forces, to face the hostile Democrat congress and form a coalition more successful then anyone imagined. His leadership, along with Dick Cheney's, Colin Powell and Stromin Norman's was one of the greatest military success stories told.
