U.S. may add new charges to Microsoft antitrust case Continuing investigation could pick up states' allegations on office-suite pricing - THE WALL STREET JOURNAL WASHINGTON May 26 - Federal investigators are continuing to probe Microsoft Corp.'s business practices and could add new charges to the landmark antitrust lawsuit they filed last week.The suit, alleging a pattern of predatory conduct by Microsoft in its efforts to win the Internet-software market, will go to trial Sept. 8, U.S. District Judge Thomas Penfield Jackson said Friday in the first hearing on the case. Two other strategic Microsoft products - a high-powered version of Windows for businesses known as Windows NT, and a compact version for consumer products called Windows CE - are also said to be under review. Both products seek to extend Microsoft's strong position on the desktop to new markets. Windows CE, for example, is the key to its effort to enter the booming market for hand-held computers now dominated by 3Com Corp.'s PalmPilot line of products, which doesn't use Windows. msnbc.com o~~~ O
