Americans critical of
Bush environmental policies

As the Bush administration marked its first 100 days last week, Americans gave the president low marks for his environmental policies. Only about one-third of respondents in a CBS News poll approved of the way Bush is handling the environment. A Los Angeles Times survey found strong nationwide sentiment "that President Bush is on the wrong track on issues ranging from global warming to wilderness protection to allowable levels of arsenic in drinking water." The majority also said they don’t believe Bush should sacrifice the environment even for the economy
