You can run through a hub if you choose, for about 40 dollars. In my case I needed a separate one for my SO, which I am charged 6.70 per month. I have heard that the price is different, in different areas. But doing the network bit with a router is the best way, with the price mentioned above you could hook up 4. In answer to your question about the speed. I hooked up 4 computers at the same time and downloaded IE 5.0 and they all finished between 5 and 6 min. Although I did go to 4 separate sights. ZD NET came in first.
