How long is the right amount of time?
How long did Reagan keep tariffs on Japan?
How long has President Trump kept tariffs on countries?
Has President Trump kept the tariffs longer or shorter than President Reagan suggested?

You should have all these answers on the tip of your lying tongue if you are going to be pontificating and lecturing the current extremely successful President about things that you are entirely clueless about.
