Sonki,

I have bought substantial MSFT for the accounts of my relatives, who understand little of the market. I, of course, have the same concern as you - when acting for others, one assumes a great responsibility.

I attempt to weigh the possible error of being mistaken in my judgements against a different error - failing to act prudently to maximize the return on the assets to which I have been entrusted.

Considering the present positive fundamentals, holding a diversified collection of growth stocks for the long term IS acting prudently on your nephew's behalf. If you are doing this, you are serving your nephew well, as several years from now he shall discover [on the assumption that he is a minor and currently unable to assess your investment decisions].

Why haven't you asked your friend the reasons for his/her opinion/actions? This I cannot understand.

Best regards,

Arno
