Getting back to what i said yesterday, Iraqi Sunni leaders want to be included (NYTimes article today) in the new govt, even though many of these same leaders are against the elections. Again, post elections, the insurgency will be under pressure from realistic sunni nationalists and the terrorists component of the insurgency may be the odd man out. I expect US troops to disengage as much as possible from actual combat and Sunni, Shiaa and Kurds to hammer out a post election deal that will give sunni representation for decision making to moderate nationalists thus splitting nationalists from baathists and both from terrorists.
