Ukraine's special forces report 'huge' Russian losses

"Just gigantic losses for the Russian army near Rodynske," reads the caption to photos posted on the unit's Telegram channel (Warning: photos contain sensitive content).
According to the fighters, nearly all the Russian soldiers in the images were destroyed using drones.
"Dozens of burned or torn-apart bodies of Russian soldiers lie out in the open on the approaches to the city," the Peaky Blinders noted.


Ukrainian defenders added that enemy forces are overwhelming Defense Forces positions with sheer numbers, lacking any tactics or strategy. Russia is reportedly willing to sacrifice thousands of its troops for minimal advances.
"So when you see enemy advances on maps, know the price the occupiers pay for every square meter of Ukrainian land," the defenders stated.

As of Nov. 2 morning, Ukraine's Armed Forces General Staff reported that Ukrainian defenders eliminated another 940 Russian soldiers over the past day. Russia's losses since the full-scale invasion began total 1,143,670 troops.
Situation near PokrovskNews outlet Ukrainska Pravda reported on Oct. 24, citing officers from two brigades, that at least 250 Russian troops are currently in Pokrovsk, engaging in infantry battles and shooting Ukrainian soldiers in positions, including drone operators. The article stated that the situation is critical.

The Institute for the Study of War wrote that Russian troops advanced in the central and western parts of Pokrovsk and took positions along the railway, though the exact outline of the frontline in the city and surroundings remains unclear.
On Oct. 26, Ukraine's General Staff stated that the situation in the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad agglomeration remains difficult. Russian invasion forces outnumber and are increasing offensive efforts. The General Staff confirmed that the Russian army has amassed about 200 troops in Pokrovsk.
That same day, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy refuted Russian fakes about the alleged encirclement of thousands of Ukrainian fighters in the Kupyansk and Pokrovsk areas, while confirming heavy fighting in the city.
On Oct. 27, representatives of the 7th Rapid Reaction Corps of Ukraine's Air Assault Forces stated that urban battles continue in Pokrovsk, but Russian troops do not fully control any of the city's districts.


Zelenskyy also stated that Russian forces have now assembled the largest concentration of their strike forces precisely in Pokrovsk and neighboring areas.
Ukrainian military Stanislav “Osman” Bunyatov assumed in his Telegram channel "Hovoriat Snayper" that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin ordered his troops to occupy Pokrovsk within the coming weeks, by mid-November.
The DeepState monitoring group wrote that the situation in Pokrovsk is "on the verge of critical and continues to deteriorate." According to analysts, hundreds of Russian troops have penetrated the city, breaking logistics toward Myrnohrad. Pokrovsk, per DeepState data, is a "large gray zone" — Ukrainian positions stand south of the railway, while Russian troops operate to the north.
On Oct. 29, Russian dictator Vladimir Putin lied that Ukraine's Armed Forces are "blocked and encircled" in Pokrovsk and Kupyansk, and stated readiness to cease fire in these sectors for media visits.


On Oct. 30, Ukraine's Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi refuted Russian claims of "blockading" Ukrainian troops in Pokrovsk and Kupyansk, emphasizing that the situation is under the control of the Defense Forces.
On Oct. 31, several media outlets, citing sources, reported special units and aviation from Ukraine's Defense Ministry Main Directorate launched a complex airborne operation in Pokrovsk. Intelligence assault troops entered city areas Russian generals had already declared "captured."
On Nov. 1, Armed Forces Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi said Ukrainian defenders in the Pokrovsk-Myrnohrad agglomeration are holding back pressure from a multi-thousand-strong enemy group continuing infiltration attempts into residential areas and supply route cuts, but there is no encirclement or blockade of the cities.
"We are continuing liberation and cleanup of the Dobropillia salient. Pokrovsk — holding. Myrnohrad — holding," the commander-in-chief said.
In its Nov. 1 report, ISW analysts noted that Russian forces intensified assaults near Pokrovsk, aiming to fully capture the city. The Russian troops recently advanced in central and southeastern Pokrovsk, experts reported citing geolocated footage released on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1.
On Nov. 2, the DeepState monitoring project analysts confirmed Russians advanced in Pokrovsk.
