[Amati Rate adaptive, 1.5M Modems]

Bill:

2 points:

i) If the modem was capable of 4M or 8M then I think the trials would not be limited to 1.5M. This is probably why there was no prior release of a 1.5M trial with Amati modems, because the slowest modem they have can go to 4M. This, of course, does not preclude trialing the same modem at 1.5M (Isn't the Telechoice sponsored testing done with O4 at 1.5M?).

ii) It is my understanding that DMT modems are, by nature, rate adaptive (as opposed to CAP). Thus the O4 as well as the O8 are rate adaptive (somebody correct me if I am wrong here).

All are IMHO.

Regards,

Edward
