Claude Cormier,
Agreed, if the collapse actually does occur ....
IMHO , not just Brazil but any other country that has, or, is contemplating joining the BRICS group of nations. Argentina and Nicaragua are said to be in the process of applying, or already joined, and I have seen past articles referring to Venezeula as a possible applicant in the future as well as some other central and south American nations. Most, if not all, of the OPEC nations are in the process of joining BRICS. Jim Willie is reporting that Japan may be joining the BRICS nations.
There isn't one fiat currency ever created that has lasted more than 50 or 60 years. The US Dollar is just the next in a long line of failed monetary instruments, backed by nothing since 1972. The BRICS nations will be partially backing a new monetary system with gold, silver, oil and a basket of other commodities of base metals and grains, at least from the onset.
What can't be repaid, won't be repaid. +$31 trillion and increasing Federal Gov't debt, and another $80 trillion in unfunded liabilities like national, state and local gov't pension plans, Social Security and Medicaid .... might be a good idea to have gold and silver exposure in countries outside the US sphere of influence, as well as physical possession of some precious metals as a portion of one's portfolio.
A good 20 minute presentation by Chen Lin this past weekend in Toronto on gold and silver .
