Some students at UCB are unhappy with some of the sources of funding for the Berkeley Center for Middle Eastern Studies---claiming that Saudis linked to terrorism are providing funding. I don't have a link to the original article printed by the students, but I have a link to this response in the Daily Californian. I would guess most college Middle Eastern Studies departments have an anti-Israeli bias, simply due to the fact that the majority of faculty and students in those departments are generally of Arab descent. I know it was that way at my college. By the time I finished one Middle Eastern studies history course, I was pretty anti-Israel. I still remember coming home for spring break, thirty years ago, and telling my folks how I had it all figured out why Israel was at fault for many of the problems in the Middle East.
