He surged, then people again realized he was not funny, and they would rather watch the cooking channel.
Is that why Sinclair and Nexstar, after cancelling his show on dozens of stations, decided to un-cancel him?

Sinclair and Nexstar restore 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!' to their local TV stations (NPR)

They quickly figured out that cancelling Kimmel cost them money, even in supposedly Trump-friendly markets. Probably because they couldn't find "cooking shows" to replace him with, AMIRITE?
