A couple of people talking about Iraq yesterday; one was a Rep., whose name I did not get, stating that the administration's main purpose for invading Iraq was because they are worried Iraq might gain control of the oil in the region. That view was followed up later by a Newsweek rep who claimed the same thing. Nothing new but at least the whole issue of Iraq presenting a constant and present danger to the US is being set aside for some reality talk.

That Iraq is not a terrror related threat is obvious to all but the politically motivated or the totally insensitive, selfish neocons. There seems to be no real regard for what lives will be lost to go fight this war in such circles. They struggle to spin convoluted arguments, exagerating both the threat and the evidence they suggest they have. The neocons view a war it seems almost as a casual event. This is so incredibly foreign to me. I just can't relate to this.

Secondly, did you note the stuff I posted this AM re the 5 men who allegedly crossed the border........turns out it was a hoax promoted by some tipster. Makes you wonder how much of the info we have been given re al Qaeda is the real deal.

I would like to think that this is the FBI covering possibilities. As long as they are not intentionally FUDding (and I don't think they are), it's forgiveable.
