Both sides are correct to the extent that if the other side's prescriptions are followed disaster will ensue. My personal belief is that no matter which approach we take the outcome is a disaster. This is a problem with no short term solution and only a modest chance of an intermediate term solution. A lot of people will die, the very rich will continue to prosper if they isolate themselves for a few years, the middle class will be at great risk, the poor will be decimated or worse.

In the long run there will be treatments and/or vaccines and this scourge will be able to be managed like HIV. Unfortunately, as Keynes accurately pointed out, in the long run we are all dead. The world is getting a close shave from Occam's razor...IMHO.
