He seems like a very reasonable guy, and meeting him personally made me see the intelligence in most of his online posts.

I didn't discuss much politics with him, but I do think his personality and attitude reflects that of other liberal engineers I've come across. It's a genuine belief in liberal issues, tempered by reason and pragmatism. Personally, I think they're more libertarian than liberal, but who knows for sure?

As for Scumbria and Paul, I think the two have been around long enough to know how to leave their online rivalry behind whenever they meet. Speaking of which, it reminds me of when Rush and Hillary once attended the same function out of coincidence. The two met briefly; Rush was very gentleman-like, and Hillary was very cordial. Rush even apologized for something he said about Chelsea many years ago, as he promised back then, and Hillary accepted.
