"However, further down the report they say ` Microdyne now has the choice either to grow its Networking Products business, or to divest it. We will explore all alternatives in that regard. I believe strongly that there is growth and profit in this industry, and that the restructured division provides the vehicle to capitalize on those opportunities. But, Networking Products must contribute every quarter."
To ALL: I just found this while researching a small company that I follow that has a blockbuster Gigabyte ethernet switch to be unveiled soon. I was surprised to see Microdyne mentioned as one of their possible partners:
<<The 9000 has features that make Plaintree a very attractive partner for a number of players. Expects that at least one or more major distribution partnerships will be announced within the next few months. Would expect strong growth in sales through such a partner. In answer to a question, Bruce named the principal OEM's as Asante, Microdyne, Xyplex, ODS and one or two others. Some of these will get the 9000; for others 9000 may not be appropriate. However, the objective is to "land" one or more of the "major" players.>>
If anyone has any insight into this, your comments would be greatly appreciated.
