China's tax revenues up sharply

China's tax revenues up sharply According to China's State Administration of Taxation (SAT), China's tax revenues rose 18.3 % last month (on a yearly basis). Taxes collected by the central government were up 20.1% and local government collections were up 16.3% the SAT said without giving exact amounts. Consumption tax, part of China's 1994 tax reforms, rose 12.7% last month. Collections from personal income tax jumped 41.2% to USD 254 million while that of over-seas funded enterprises and foreign companies reached USD 274 million. Stamp taxes from securities trading reached USD 306 million.
