I believe that the quiet period is the time between quarter's end and earnings release. Company is not supposed to comment on earnings during this period, nor make remarks which would indicate anything different from leading comments made, if any, prior (i.e. when Benhamou lowered expectations last month). Moreover, management is in contact with analysts on a regular basis. It would be shocking if Benhamou would alienate "the street" by intimating new info to a Bloomberg reporter. I could be wrong, but this is all probably so.
