Holly, if you don't want to discuss partial birth abortions, that's fine, but I am getting a little tired of your continual maligning of my sources. First, when I cited those three references I made VERY CLEAR to you that I picked ones with differing points of view, one pro-life, one which seemed to discuss both sides of the issue (and still does on second reading), and a diagram of the procedure itself. I was in a hurry, and pulled the diagram from the pro-life web page, but here it is again, from an organization of CATHOLIC PRIESTS. Is that better now, that it is from a different source? SAME IDEA!!! I have seen this diagram of a partial-birth abortion in many mainstream publications. I mean, so what?

I would actually love it if you posted some supporting evidence for your statements, such as the one that partial birth abortions are NEVER done for elective reasons, but if you don't want to do that, it's your choice. I am at least attempting to throw in a variety of net sources of information, however, and I don't see anything wrong with that. Obviously, if you read several different points of view it helps most people who are new to an issue mull over what they read, and perhaps form their own conclusions (which is the point). Certainly, reading one source is less valuable than reading several, and usually (not always), the truth is somewhere in the middle.

No one at the Feelings thread is trying to get a doctorate here or anything (I hope)!!! No course credits are being given, folks. There is the kind of research EVERYONE knows about--scholarly research--and we definitely don't need to access that kind of research to be able to banter back and forth here about topics in the news. But it's fun to discuss current issues, and there is information on the web that is generally helpful. Certainly, a lot of doctors, and medical organizations like cancer and heart societies, and state health boards do present generally credible information, though. I do expect everyone here to be intelligent enough to sort through it without having a cow or something!!!!!
