He also pointed out that AOL chose to recognize as revenues subscriber
payments while at the same time treating the refund of those same payments as a non-recurring charge."

The fact that AOL has again used questionable accounting proceedures underlies (IMO) what is wrong with this company. It seems that Steve Case believes that the perception of the company is more important than the company itself.
