Actually, Shaq's comments were allegedly made months ago. They have only been put to light recently thanks to an Asian anti-discrimination group, and only because of the then-upcoming meeting between Shaq and Yao.

The media missed it months ago (I know I did), and they're probably going to let it slide now. At least Yao isn't going to fan the flames here. When asked whether Shaq personally apologized for the comments, Yao said, "That's a private question."
