"Forsake not the assembling of yourselves together..." Hebrews
In early days, they used mules to mine with...working them day in and day out...finally bringing them out of the mines when they were about to drop...and they discovered, they'd kept them in the dark for so long, they became blind .
Application- Church and worship is necessary for us to keep us from becoming blind. One day a week---a couple of hours out of 168---to receive the Word, Light, Love, Faith, Hope, etc...what a deal God has given us...most of us even have Sunday's off...we work in a darkened world day after day, week after week, month after month, year after year. In oppressed countries, many risk their lives to attend church---attending clandestinely. My wife and I drive nearly 50 miles one way to Church on Sundays---why? To receive the light---to come out of the dark. I once attended a worship service in Egypt, and a guard was posted at the door by the gov't---Sadat at the time---but it was considered a tremendous privilege to attend church
You certainly won't find "church" here on the internet, much less SI.
"Let the Church be the Church, let the people rejoice." As Gaither has penned in his hymn.
Amen.
