AdForce Extends Its Reach Through Netwhirl's Large Audience Base; AdForce Signs Netwhirl Communications, a Leading Online Provider of Vertical Content Channels Business Wire - January 20, 2000 08:50 CUPERTINO, Calif--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 19, 1999--AdForce, Inc., a majority-owned operating company of CMGI, Inc. (NASDAQ: CMGI), and a leading online provider of centralized, outsourced ad management and delivery services, today announced the signing of an agreement with Netwhirl Communications, a new media company that owns and operates a rapidly expanding network of vertical channels. Under the terms of the agreement, AdForce is expected to serve over 100 million impressions per month to the Netwhirl network and work jointly with Netwhirl to meet the specific needs of customer advertising campaigns. Specifically, AdForce's services are expected to enhance the overall aggregated channel package for Netwhirl's online marketing clients.
In addition to benefiting from Netwhirl's content-specific communities that enable online ads to target users by subject matter, online marketers will now be able to more precisely target users in these communities based on their area code, state or country. This geo-targeting and behavioral marketing services provided by AdForce are designed to increase the ability of Netwhirl's online advertisers to conduct one-to-one marketing, thereby more effectively capturing the target audience.
AdForce's ad management services are also designed to provide Netwhirl clients with the ability to manage their online ad campaigns in real-time. Online marketers will be able to go online and check the results of ads any time of the day.
This immediate feedback is designed to enable online marketers to adjust messaging of an online campaign in real-time, further increasing an ad's effectiveness.
"AdForce continues to be ahead of the curve in digital media delivery, and our technology infrastructure premeditates the evolution of Internet advertising beyond the banner," said Chuck Berger, CEO of AdForce. "The AdForce end-to-end technology model will afford present and future Netwhirl customers the opportunity to push the envelope in creative advertising without having to worry about the actual ad delivery and management of new media formats."
"As AdForce is an industry leader, their partnership with Netwhirl validates the strength of our content-specific channel network. We knew that AdForce could provide Netwhirl with a reliable infrastructure and ad services solution that could accommodate our growing volume of ad impressions," said Sam Jain, CEO of Netwhirl. "Because Netwhirl is focused on aggressively increasing its content inventory in a variety of content-specific channels, a partnership with AdForce enables us to focus on our business, while also meeting the strategic business needs of online marketers."
