There are a lot of real time web based quote services, at varying prices. I use interquote (www.interquote.com) because it's cheap, but it is quirky. For charting the really serious investors and traders use something like Metastock6.5, download nightly and can run either the program's embedded indicators or develop their own. Very sophisticated and takes a lot of dedication to learn. I use iqsuite, (www.iqc.com) because I use T.A. mainly as a support. It has a number of canned indicators, has nice readable charts, and downloads automatically. CBS.com, among others, has charts for free, but they're pretty basic.

Hope this helps a bit.
