Shelly, I wish I knew the answer to your question. Thank you for the kind words, but I have no engineering background - so much of the information I've put together has come from others who regularly contribute to this thread. My guess is that the softness in Europe is about over and the problems surrounding the K56flex have been resolved. I am also encouraged by the recent deals with NTT and UUNET. Assuming that the company has solved its design problems allowing full integration with CSCC products and doesn't experience production problems the stage may be set for decent growth in upcoming quarters. But this speaks only to the near-term. Given the explosive growth of the web I believe that ASND will continue to be an important player provided that its R&D continues to supply the company with competitive products, and this is the long-term key.

On the other hand, it is clear that the integration of CSCC has not been as smooth as many had hoped, and it is also apparant that the competitive picture within the industry has changed due to new product offerings from other companies as well as increased pricing pressure. But these issues are probably transitory in nature provided that the company's R&D effort is vigorous.

As a final note, virtually all companies stumble from time to time and the good ones rebound. I will be reading ASND's 10Q very closely to see if I continue to think that this company is still one of the good ones. So far, I haven't seen any evidence that leads me to believe that ASND's problems can't be corrected in fairly shor order, or that the problems we've seen have compromised the long-term growth picture.

Regards,

Paul
