I thought the appointment of a woman to one of the top cabinet positions was long overdue. The choice of Albright was devastatingly horrible, however, as the last couple of years have shown us. Appointment of, for example, Jeanne Kirkpatrick or Condalezza Rice or another competent woman would have made a lot more sense. Albright was (and continues today to be, in her ramblings) a horrible mistake.
