I've read most of Sir Arthur C. Clarke's works, including the great, "Report on Planet Three," his novels, essays and anthologies of short stories. But he's not dead. He's still alive and living on Sri Lanka. In fact he just became embroiled in the Mars-life controversy.

As for projection of "UFOs," perhaps in some cases. But must CE of the 3rd kind (ala J. Allen Hynek and his Center for UFO Studies www.cufos.org ) are with physical objects that seem multi-dimensional and have a long term agenda that goes back many thousands of years.

There are some cultures in Africa an Asia that have been built around these 'visitors from the stars,' although they might not be coming from the stars at all. I believe, in fact, that much mysticism and all major world religions have been influenced by them. As Vallee asserts, they may well be 'Messengers of Deception.'
