If AMD had use of the Intel P6 bus that you think is so crappy AMD would have had 2 way K7's right out of the box. And AMD could plug into those 8 way sockets that are part of the Intel infrastructure.

The very first Intel P6 -- the Pentium Pro introduced in 1996 -- had 2 way functionality. AMD just managed to get to 2 way functionality in 2001 -- 5 YEARS AFTER Intel.

The result is that AMD has virtually no share (<<1%) in the IA 32 SMP server arena.
