She won the election 6 years ago at her weakest and now she is doing a hell of alot better in the polls --so well in fact that the reps are not even contesting her re-election. 6 years ago she may have lost an election to Rudy if he hadnt gotten sick, but being that it was pre-9/11 she probably would have beaten rudy too.
