There have been large acquistions before. ATT/NCR, COMS/USRX, SNPX/WFLT, CSCO/Stratcacom ....

These have all been relative failures. Once again if you do not have an example of a succesful large merger.

The fact that the CPQ/DEC merger is the largest and first time etc.. only increases the risk.

This puppy compaq is headed for the dumpsters.
