You may need to call Gartner Group for a definition of total cost of ownership. Up front cost is only one term in this sum. Sun people surely appreciate your advice and cannot disagree with you on principle. Sun always tries to provide a total value package and cutting acquisition cost is one of the ways to enhance the total value. Sun aims to serve customers from any sources - new, existing and defectees from other vendors. Please send them to Sun if you are in a position to do so. Sun will not disappoint your clients and therefore will enhance your own value to them. Big thanks!
