Shareholder Wealth Increased $2.061 Trillion In 2006

The final 2006 American Shareholders Association shareholder wealth calculator estimates shareholder wealth increased a total of $2.061 trillion, 0r 13.9 percent, in 2006. Last year marked only the fourth time in history shareholder wealth increased more than $2 trillion in one calendar year. Since the 2003 tax cut on capital gains and dividends, total shareholder wealth has increased $6.4 trillion or 60.9 percent. On an annual compounded basis total shareholder wealth has increased 14.4 percent per year since the 2003 tax cut.
