Al-

I am starting to think I don't give enough negative weight to high short interest in my stock picking.

Part of the reason is because I have trouble envisioning the actual scenario in which someone who is not an insider becomes privy to such damaging information that through discreet dissemination results in "informed" (and high) short interest.

Or, are you saying a disinterested and thorough appraisal of the company could lead so many to short a company with such explosive LONG-TERM growth prospects?

Could you possibly elaborate on some of the possibilities here? Or, is it simply many past experiences with similiar stocks that lead you prudently away from such situations?

My current view is that those who were short CUBE in the mid twenties (prior to the earnings warning) were ignorant, late, and greedy momentum investors piling on in hope of catching a little down draft after the fall from 45. And they didn't get it!! Rather, they hit the jackpot with an earnings warning that substantially alters the short-term fundamentals of the company. They got lucky, in other words.

Whats your view?

Thanks to you or anyone else (of maturity and experience) who shares their insights here!

Jason
