Ah, you have a tube receiver, way cool! Yeah your son would love a tube amp. There around (older ones) and can be picked up for a reasonable price, well not all models. Some of the old fenders can be pretty expensive. I got my ampeg 100 watt twin for $200 at a local music store. Been offered $350 from friends in the midwest, but I'm not selling. I want to pick up a old fender, but the sports car has higher priority at the moment.
New tube amps are real expensive, the best IMO is a VHT Pitbull 100 watt twin. They can run over $2,000! Also you can't go wrong with a Marshall tube amp, their legendary...
