Mexican political integrity. Interesting concept. Let me know when they get that running, and perhaps we can implement it here.

The trouble with populists, is that it is all hypocracy. And their cynicism often extends not so much to a hard nose idea of what it takes to run an economy so much as to what amounts to misguided vote buying and nationalization/ruination of what where once good efficient industries. Some left economies print even more money per capita than the USA does. Without requisite control of the IMF that is a dangerous idea.

In general it has been found that what does not make money loses money. There is no break even.

The tendencies all exist here. The corruption as well. The difference is that there is better tax collection, and far better infrastructure. We have also allowed our businesses to steal money from the public with more alacrity than most venues. This contributes in a mighty way to general prosperity. There is nothing like the prospect of ill gotten boodle of immense proportions to keep the average joe with his nose to the grindstone, as fictional as it may be in the end. That is why it is so easy to get people to work in gold mines. You never tell them that it is ridiculously unprofitable to attempt highgrading. But it keeps them breaking backs.
