actually its not quite a roll of the dice. you can get earnings dates from zacks and First call. Also i scan Ivestors business daily every day looking for a possible earnings surprise. Found article about TI back in the end of june and they stated the company should be up about 85%. Very positive article. Followed stock for next 3 weeks and noticed it slowly moving up so I jumped in day before earnings. Heres the lucky part, nobody expected eps of 1.27 when the street was looking for .87, but even if they were .5-.10c above estimates I would of expected a 5-6 point jump to aroung 104. That would still been nice profit. I do this 4 times a year starting 1 month before earnings and take my best shot with companies that have had accelerated earnings. i have to say, probablly will never again see an option go from 1 to 16 in 2 days. BTW right here is probably the best place to find earnings dates on SI calendar. I have 4 plays for next 2 weeks CHRZ(tues),IMRS (wed), SRA (wed), and TEVIY. We will see. I strongly recommnd getting your hands on IBD every day It takes 20 minutes to scan and every once in awhile somethingw ill hit you. Good Luck sam
