Hi, Sandy:
The MMX chip's weakness is in its clarity in 3D graphics. TSNG's new chip, won a prize in last year's Comdex show, has a particular strong capability in this areea. Moreover, TSNG has just announced that it is cooperating with Microsoft in its effort in computer-to-tv conversion. I still think the stock at US$4 is an interesting speculation.

Tseng Labs Announces Support Of Microsoft's PC/TV Convergence Initiatives
NEWTOWN, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--January 23, 1997--Tseng Labs, Inc. (Nasdaq National Market:TSNG) today announced its support of Microsoft's initiatives to make personal computers more interactive by integrating them with television. Tseng Labs was named in Microsoft's January 9th announcement detailing the program, and has been working with Microsoft since mid-1996 to enable interactive PC/TV solutions based on its 128- bit ET6000 graphics and multimedia engine and VPR6000 video processor.
"Microsoft's long-term objective of integrating personal computers with television will require the support of many companies involved in technology convergence," said George Moore, product unit manager, Personal Business Systems Group, Microsoft. "Tseng Lab's ET6000 and VPR6000 technologies will play an important role in helping us all reach that common goal."
The award-winning ET6000 and VPR6000 deliver features critical to next generation PC/TV solutions, including high-quality scaling and de- interlacing of video, a high performance synchronous memory interface, and a patented Multiport Cache to handle multiple high-bandwidth data streams simultaneously. These features enable OEMs to deliver PC products that use broadcast TV technology to deliver Internet data, traditional TV programming and interactive entertainment services that blend the two.
"Based on Tseng's ET6000, the Dynamite 128/Video delivers unbeatable Windows and DOS performance today," notes Patrick Lucci, vice president of marketing, Hercules Computer Technology, Inc. "By adding the VPR6000 and an optional TV encoder we are able to deliver a high quality, high performance graphics and video solution targeted at the needs of tomorrow's home entertainment appliances."
Tseng has scheduled a new VPR6000 software release for the end of this month to improve its video de-interlacing capabilities and make it easier to synch to a wide range of external video sources. Microsoft will also deliver a limited release SDK (system design kit) in February to Tseng and other partners for the development of technologies and services combining the PC, broadcast television, and the Internet.
