PCWORLD & PCMAGAZINE

I saw at the newsstand both PCMagazine,
and PCWorld(which i bought and will refer
to below): the December issues both featured
prominent reviews of the c6...the thrust of the
articles (i skimmed the former, and lighter of the
two quickly) is GREAT VALUE, and in essence, the arrival
of a formidable THIRD company fighting for a piece of
Intel's business.

( They appropriately quote Glenn Henry
in PCWorld referring to AMD and Cyrix, however, as their
true competitive targets: Henry sees the c6 cudtomer as value-
conscious buyers not afraid of a no name. I recall these
exact points raised in so many words by all of you savvy
threadsters...)

In PCWorld: "CENTAUR INSIDE": Means High Performance on a Small
Budget highlights win95 business applications performance as nearly equal to its competitors, and actually MATCHING INTEL HERE at
a cost 34% LESS.

More news: they mention AES Computers, in
Texas, as the first third tier system vendor
to come forward to sell it. (used for benchmarks)
"But more are expected to appear by the time you
read this."

Maybe at Comdex?
