From what I hear Bill et al are paranoid about control and get nervous
when less than 50% of the stock is controlled by insiders. They also
have a big buyback program (although that supplies the employee
stock purchase program--they don't retire the stock.). If insiders become
net sellers, I'd expect Microsoft as a company to become net buyers
to keep control. It would be a very attractive company for someone
to buy, if they could afford it and the stock was available. There's
$7bn in the bank!!!
