dammit! I want to cuss!

I think that one of the great misunderstandings of gravity is that it is really *pushing* rather than *pulling* as you suggest. And this is bad, as you know. But I think that the real problim is that our benevolent protectors of the universe have not instituted a policy of mandatory anti-gravity. Oh, they tried that little experiment a few years ago and look at how successful it was.....we flew so high. But, no, then the evil bastages started piling on more and more gravity and it brought us all back down to earth. In some cases, some innocents got burdened with so much gravity that they actually augered in to the soil from falling from such high levels. And they may never be able to dig themselves out.

I think you are on to something.......Everybody should have mandatory rocket packs strapped to their back and it should be illegal to remove and/or tamper with them.

I think that it is important that we carry lots of food since there isn't a whole lot of free floating food in outer space and the threat of starving would be real. Actually, it should be mandatory that each person carries a lifetime supply of food and rocket fuel otherwise gravity could win out over the long run.
