I feel so sorry for corporations who are being pulled this way and that by various advocacy groups. The first one I can remember was grapes, and then it was tuna, and then it was Proctor and Gamble. Remember when the fundamentalist Christians were boycotting Proctor and Gamble because they had a moon with a face on it, and the fundamentalists said it was satanic? The latest is Lipton Tea and the Dixie Chicks. I wonder if business schools or communications schools teach how to deal with complaints from advocacy groups? Sweetly and politely so you don't alienate your customer base.
