The Scoop, The Skinny (Hope we don't break any bubbles):
Called a Mr. Feldman, the attorney and main man for SFAD. He informed me that SFAD is a R & D company and in fact has patents on certain devices and products. Thus far they have not had another company purchase or use any of their devices or products. He DOES send out several packets a week to prospective suitors, insofar as trying to solicit their product. A patent on some kind of bleaching device or bleach, and also the nasal aspirin delivery product. He placed the answering machine to answer calls because during the run-up this summer (which he says he has NO idea why it ran up) because he was getting up to 200 calls a day and couldn't sit and talk all day, as he is primarily a lawyer (he does NOT depend on SFAD to generate income for himself at this point). He has invested heavily in stock and also specifically in the company, but they have VERY LIMITED resources and as such can do little more than solicit other companies who might be interested in their product.
After this talk (he was very cordial) I have come to realize this company will rise and fall at the whim of the market, MMs and word of mouth. Unless they sell or work with another company who has use for their product, they will generate no income. He did say they are always looking for other interesting ideas to focus upon.
I'm sorry I did not come up with more info, but he said all that he can offer is the SEC filings which were completely up to date (and which he said due to limited resources, the interested parties must go the distance to retrieve the papers themselves, as well as printing no publications about the company...but it did NOT sound as if they were going belly up).
Hope this info helps, and in this market where good news sends prices down, and no/bad news is likely to keep the price constant or send it up, maybe with all out in the open we can make intelligent deicsions on what course to take individually. |
