the volume spike over 4mm on a big down day in disconcerting. obviously, i agree with you on the 40-41 area being major resistance; though i would prefer that we don't test 30- rather see a higher low. i agree that the pattern is mostly positive though (except for friday). if the comp could take out 2650 and move towards 3,000 (a big if), it could portend a quick move to 60 upon taking out 40/41 from my read of the chart. unfortunately, i'm not sold on the sustainability of this bounce; though i do find it heartening that most pundits are equally leery- a nice contrarian indicator.
