I Don't think that NI has anything to worry about. LabVIEW is the obvious choice for developers. NI has all the patents as well. I expect continued success and growth. Growth translates into market share.

Have you ever seen HP-VEE? It is a joke compared to LV - in my opinion. Had a friend that contracted with HP to do a particular test software project. They insisted that he use HP-VEE (it was the politically correct thing to do). Turns out that HP-VEE was incapable of doing what they needed done. He talked them into letting him use LV (just on this one project) and within about a third the time they had already spent trying to get HP-VEE to work, he got LV to do everything the project required - quite impressive to the manager at that division of HP - but of course they could not continue to use LV - it's not proper to use a competitor's product, ya know. Even if the competitor's works and HP-VEE doesn't.

Disclaimer: I might be a little biased, but yet I speak the truth...
