So what? Steel undergoes considerable expansion at much lower temperatures than that. We design extensive pipe expansion allowances into hydronic piping systems that only get up to 160 degrees F. At 480 degrees, the joists would deform dramatically and would easily sheer bolts holding them in place.

You've made a choice to believe impossibly insane theories rather than believe that heated steel expands and can cause structural failure.

That's a very strange choice.
